Weather in Belize

Belize enjoys a more or less sub-tropical type of climate. The temperature seldom falling sharply maintaining a calm climate all day long. The nights are cooler with the influence of the ocean winds. Weather in Belize is enjoyed by the tourists during most part of the year as there is hardly any difference in temperature throughout.


The island experiences high humidity level with the barometer recording 83% mean annual humidity. The sultry effects is more prevalent around the coasts. This effect is sometimes masked by the cool breeze from the ocean.


The coastal part of the island is exposed to the trade winds which flows at an average speed of 10-13 knots. These winds become quite consistent during the month of July.


The average mean temperature of Belize is 75°F with the temperature hobbling between 50°F to 95°F. the month of May to September witnesses the warmest months of the year in the island. the temperature differs hugely with the locations in the island. the regions of Cayo can be much cooler than the other regions of the island. the surrounding mountains are the cause for these fluctuations.


The island of Belize experience two distinct seasons as wet and dry. The rainfall during the dry season is quite predictable but during the wet season it rains quite heavily in the island. the month of September even experiences a rainfall of the amount of 10 to 12 inches.
