Weather in Cook Islands can be easily categorized as tropical. The summer months are marked with high temperatures and high humidity as perpetuated by higher rainfall. Tropical storms are more likely to hit the island during this time of the year. During winter months, climate in Cook Islands is cooler and drier.
Different islands of the Cook Islands group have different weather conditions. While Aitutaki and the northern islands record relatively higher temperatures than the main island of Rarotonga. The temperatures keep on decreasing further south as Mangaia in the south is the coolest island and light woolens may be needed at nights and early mornings.

This is a peak season for tourism in Cook Islands as the lush vibrancy of the countryside is at display. The only downside to this is high humidity, sticky nights and more mosquitoes.

Midwinter time in Cook Islands that coincides with the month of July is a pleasant time to visit the island as the average daily temperature is very pleasant around 25oC.
