Though an island, Hong Kong does not experience a typical tropical climate. The season changes with passage of time. Unlike other islands which usually experiences just two types of seasons throughout the year.
In Hong Kong the months from December to February remains quite overcast with occasional patches of cold waves. The early winters are quite sunny but deep into the season the sky starts turning murky with clouds. Temperatures hobble around the 7°C-15°C on a colder day. Rainfall is not experienced at these times but if starts drizzling then it persists for a long period of time along with the cold. February usually marks the end of winter in Hong Kong and the beginning of Spring. Though at times temperatures less than 10°C has been recorded.
The rainy season too starts from the months of March and continues till May. During this period the humidity starts increasing. This is the most favored climate for the locals before the hot summer.
The time period in the mid year in Hong Kong experiences the summer season. Temperatures rise up to 35°C. the humidity too soars up; often going up to 60-70% during the day and soaring even higher in the night. These are the months when Hong Kong experiences thunderstorms. The usual met report prediction for the day in Hong Kong remains bright, hot and sunny during the day with patches of isolated showers and thunderstorms and sometimes heavy rain. One can also expect Typhoons during the summers in Hong Kong.
The best time to visit Hong Kong is during October and November. The weather remains generally sunny with less rainfall. The humidity level too drops down.
