To summarize New Zealand's climate, one can safely say that t he country enjoys a t emperate climate with sharp regional contrasts. Since New Zealand comprises of two long thin islands that run north south, their climactic difference can be attributed to their geographical location. The North Island has sub-tropical climate whereas the bottom of the South Island, has temperate climate. However, on the whole New Zealand has a very healthy and pleasant climate with few weather hazards, which makes it a holiday makers heaven all year round.
It is important to note that New Zealand's seasons are the opposite of those in the Northern Hemisphere.
