Tourist Attractions in St. Barts

"Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it."

Russel Baker

Suffering yet at the same time, liking will just be your feelings if you are on any one of the golden beaches in the scorching sun at St. Barts Island. If the sweltering heat makes you suffer, the cooling breeze is there to wipe out all exhaustion. That's why sea beaches are the prominent one amongst the Tourist Attractions in St. Barts. However, this island of volcanic origin has obviously much more things to be seen and enjoyed.

Colombier
North of Corossol is Colombier, a residential area of red-roofed cottages overlooking a bay favored by sailors.

Corossol
This two-street fishing village is sometimes called the "straw village", due to the women from established island families who create straw hats and crafts from palm fronds. Visit Ingenu Magras' InterOceans Museum, a place with a collection of over 9,000 shells is the life's work of Ingenu Magras.

Gustavia

It is St Barths' red-roofed capital. This is a small harbor town which includes chic boutiques, duty free shops, French restaurants, galleries and the town hall or "Mairie". Here you can visit-

Cruise-port
Fort Gustav
Fort Karl
Fort Oscar
Herve Podeur Sculpture Gallery
Old Bell Tower
St Barth Town Hall
St Bartholomew's Anglican Episcopal Church
Wall House Museum

Lorient

The site of St Barths' first French settlement has a 19th Century Catholic church plus a post office, shopping and two flower-strewn cemeteries. You can visit here-

Lorient Church
The Manor

Pointe Milou
At Pointe Milou those admiring the ocean vistas also overlook a portion of St Barths' coast.

St Barths' white sand beaches are sparsely populated. All are public and free. Enjoy at-

Caye Beach
