Chamorro Village

The best way to experience the pulse of a place is to blend in with the locals; and try to understand local culture and tradition. When in Guam the Chamorro Village is one such place that you must visit! It is here that you'll get a glimpse of the historic legacy of this ancient land.

The Village is basically an outdoor mall that has been established by the local authorities. But what is significant is the fact that the huts, artefacts and locals who work here are real. These huts have been relocated and brought here so tourists can get a real glimpse of how the local tribes have been living through the generations.

The open air market not only stocks a huge variety of crafts and interesting stuff that can be bought as souvenirs; but offers an amazing variety of local cuisine. The products and food sold here are reasonably priced, in fact dirt cheap! The only thing about shopping here is you should carry cash. Most stores and local stalls are not equipped to accept debit or credit cards.

Wednesday nights at the Chamorro Village are special. The entire bazaar comes alive with jugglers, dancers and other artists who give open air performances. You can even ride a hired horse from one stall to another!
