Fiji Ferry
|
There is a scheduled ferry service in Fiji between the major islands. These ferry rides are best suited to those with an adventurous streak in them and those who want to get a taste of the scenic and exciting island travel. The tourists in Fiji can choose to ferry aboard many luxurious cruise ships or inter-island vessels that provide both freight as well as passenger ferry service. Fiji ferry usually has a deck passage along with a few cabins (in few ships) that can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
To supplement the scheduled ferry services between the major islands, there are several smaller boats operated by various resorts, including some of the backpacker resorts in the Yasawa group, that offer Fiji ferry service.
Major scheduled ferry routes:
§ Viti Levu - Vanua Levu (most frequent service)
§ Ovalau - Kadavu
§ Vanua Levu - Tavaeuni
