Tourist Attractions in Grenadines

A nation of islands in the Windward Islands is named St Vincent and the Grenadines. St Vincent, at the northern end of the chain, is the largest and most populated of the islands. The island's economy is depended largely on agriculture with the leading crops being bananas, arrowroot, coconut, and spices. Tourist Attractions in Grenadines consist of picturesque landscape, stunning seashore, and some historic spots.


Bequia
The island of Bequia has a number of beaches and is a popular yachting destination.

1. Friendship Bay
It offers a pleasant beach popular with swimmers and windsurfers.

2. Lower Bay
Lower Bay is a small village with a stretch of golden sand beach lining the waterfront.

3. Petit Nevis
It is an unpopulated island just south of Friendship Bay and a former whaling station with artifacts from that era still remaining.

4. Port Elizabeth
It is the main commercial center on Bequia, which is a walkway runs along the waterfront on the south side of the town, passing restaurants and stores.

· Princess Margaret Beach
Just south of Port Elizabeth is Princess Margaret Beach. A trail leads from the south end of Port Elizabeth over a small rise to this stretch of golden sand.


Canouan
The place is known for its beautiful white sand beaches and snorkeling areas.

Mayreau
The only village is home to about 170 people and there is just one road on the island.

· Salt Whistle Bay
Salt Whistle Bay offers a secluded white sand beach with the small Salt Whistle Bay Club Resort.

Mustique
This is a privately owned isle and has its own airport, general store, and shops. There are several beaches and snorkeling areas around the island.

Palm Island
Palm Island is a small island dominated by a private resort. The island has a small airport and is also only a short boat ride from Union Island.

Tobago Cays
These are comprised of five small, uninhabited islands, protected by reefs the beaches offer calm clear waters for swimming and snorkeling.

Union Island
Union Island's most famous feature is the 281m (900 ft) Mount Parnassus.

· Ashton
A quiet community just west of Clifton, there are few facilities for travelers here but there are a number of hiking trails in the area.

· Clifton
Clifton is the main village on the island with shops, restaurants, marina and airport.
