Molokai

The fifth largest island of the Hawaiian archipelago is Molokai, covering a total area of 38 by 10 miles (61 by 16 km), with a land area of 260.02 sq mi (673.44 km). The 25 mile (40 km) wide Kiwi Channel separates Molokai from the island of Oahu lying to its West, Whereas the Kalohi Channel separates it from Lanai lying to its North. On clear nights it is not uncommon to see the lights of Honolulu visible across a long distance from the west end of Molokai, whereas the proximal islands of Lanai and Maui can be easily spotted across the channel from anywhere along the south shore of the Island.

Molokai or the "Friendly Isle" of the Hawaiian Islands entices the tourists with its rich cultural heritage, which is still preserved and is reflected in the lifestyle of its inhabitants in its aboriginal state, unspoiled by the outside influences. Being one of the least developed of the main Hawaiian Islands and a cosmopolitan population with a large chunk of them being the people of Hawaiian ancestry makes Molokai the cultural hub of Hawaii.
