Weather in Sicily

The beautiful island of Sicily experiences a typical Mediterranean type of climate. The summers are characterized by hot and dry climate and the winters with slightly cool weather with mild rainfall.

In Sicily winter lasts for a short spell during the months of December and February. Summers last for a much longer time.

Sicily never experiences frost. But the winters are definitely cooler. The climate of the island is apt for a good produce of crops regularly. As a matter of fact and olive groves, prickly-pears, watermelons and wine-making grapes are grown abundantly in the island.


The island though shows distinct difference in the climate depending upon the location. The coastal regions experiences the finest weather in the island and the climate tends to become extreme towards the hills. The temperature in the inland cities usually remains on the higher side and humid too.

The sea breeze influences the climate to a great extent. The temperature is greatly controlled by these breeze. In the island the temperatures soar to a maximum high of 35°C and the winter temperatures droops down to 10°C.
