Reunion Cruises

Réunion-the largest of the Mascarene Islands is positioned about 480 miles east of Madagascar and 102 miles southwest of Mauritius. Since 1946, Réunion as an Overseas Department has been governed by France with St. Denis as its capital. The principal port of Réunion is Pointe des Galets. The island is famous for the rocky beauty of its interior. A taste of Créole-flavored French culture transported to the tropical setting of Réunion is also part of the attraction.

The cruise is scheduled to tie up at the port of Pointe des Galets. The distance to St. Denis is 8 miles, or you can take a drive of approximately 30 minutes to reach the capital from here. Taxis are generally available at the port.

Though the main shopping area is in St. Denis, however, some souvenir shopping is available in the port terminal. Local handicrafts are just beautifully made of seashells and plant fibers. These also include embroideries, vanilla, spices, and rum.

The cruise offers French, Indian, Chinese and Créole cuisines. Many dishes feature fish and crustaceans, usually cooked in a spicy tomato-based sauce or curried. Your trip would surely be accompanied by these mouth watering cuisines.

There are so many places that you can visit during your cruise trip to the island. Private arrangements for independent sightseeing may requested through the Tour Office on board, subject to the availability of qualified English-speaking guides.

State Garden
The park contains hundreds of exotic plants and trees in an area of over 12 acres.

St. Gilles
In addition to watersports centers, there are shops offering beach and resort wear, as well as several small cafés and restaurants.

Volcano Museum
Exhibits provide firsthand knowledge on worldwide volcanism and in particular about Reunion's volcano

Beaches
The best beaches are found in and around St. Gilles; snorkeling and scuba diving are available there.

Just grab the opportunity of Reunion Cruises and enjoy a perfect holiday during your sail. Travour.com offers information on Reunion Cruises. For more information about Reunion hotels and other islands worldwide, keep browsing through Travour.
