Samoa Ferry

When in the Samoan Islands get your feet wet on the weekly Samoa ferry that sails between Upolu and Tutuila (American Samoa). Intra island ferry service is available as well. The crossing time taken by the Upolu and Tutuila ferry is about 8 hours and the journey can be pretty rough and uncomfortable, especially for those more prone to water sickness. In fact, it would be a better option to take a connecting domestic flight if you want to visit American Samoa.

In addition to the passenger ferry operating in Samoa, there is a car ferry service as well that travels from Upolu to Savaii. This ferry route is much shorter and takes lesser time than the one connecting Upolu and Tutuila. The ferry route is dotted with scenic views of small picturesque islands, often with playful dolphins joining you in your ferry ride. We suggest that you book this ferry crossing in advance along with arrangements for transfers to your hotels on both islands.
