Ferry Service in the Randall's Island

RISF and others have incessantly advocated for water-based transportation to the Island for many years now and it seems that it will finally take a shape with NY Waterway being given the contract run East River Ferry Service for major events to and from a dock near the Park's Little Hell Gate Inlet. This is sure to serve as a particularly Park-appropriate link in an improved access system to the Island.


Directions to Randall Island from surrounding islands and cities are given below:

From Manhattan

Take any of the East River Drive, Harlem River Drive or East 125th St. entrance to the Triboro Bridge. Stay to the left on the bridge and follow the signs to Manhattans Wards/Randalls Island exit. You can also avail of the Round-trip ferry service that is available from various departure points in Manhattan.

From the Bronx/Westchester/New England

Take the Major Deegan Expy or Bruckner Expy to the Triboro Bridge. Stay to the far right on the bridge and exit after the tollbooth to Wards/Randalls Island exit.

From Long Island

Get on a Grand Central Park way to the Triboro Bridge (toward Manhattan), stay to right and exit after tollbooth to Wards/Randalls Island exit.

From New Jersey

Take the GW Bridge to the Cross Bronx Expy east to the Major Deegan Expy, turn south to the Triboro Bridge, stay to right and exit after toll booth to Wards/Randalls Island exit.
